Hey look! It's Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun! Yes, it's only thirty-six million miles from the sun! Although many say Mercury has no atmosphere, it does in fact have one. Though of course it is very thin. Mercury's temperatures vary greatly. They can get down to -330 degrees Fahrenheit, and up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit! Mercury is never more than twenty-eight degrees in the sky from the sun, making it hard to spot. During transits of Mercury, you can observe Mercury as a sunspot like dot. You would of course have to view safely with a full aperture solar filter!
